I’ve been to Solvang three times now. The first time was with a group tour, so everything felt rushed. The second was another quick visit. But this weekend, I finally stayed overnight—and got to experience Solvang at a much slower pace.

I came from San Luis Obispo and La Purísima, visiting the missions along the way. Solvang has a mission too, but I’ll save that for a different entry. For now, I just wanted to share some of the beautiful photos I took while staying in downtown Solvang.

On my first day, I spent some time walking around and, after a little wine tasting at Toccata, I may or may not have gotten a little tipsy. 😂 The wines were so good!

On Day 2, I decided to wake up early and really take in the town. I was up at 7 a.m., got ready, and headed out—and honestly, early morning is THE best time to explore Solvang and take photos. No crowds, no selfie sticks, no people fighting for the perfect Instagram shot. Just a few fellow early risers like myself. 😌

So here are some of the beautiful photos I took that morning.

Solvang is such a charming little city—a fun way to experience a little taste of Danish culture right here in America. 🇩🇰🇺🇸
